公投起動 四千市民撐場 新民主運動人民當主角
【本報訊】就在五區公投運動昨晚正式啟動那一刻開始，香港人真真正正實踐一人一票，人民自決真民主。 4,000顆民主心，昨晚齊集遮打花園「起義」。簇擁五名辭職議員、高呼「五區公投，全民抬頭」，五區公投運動總發言人余若薇說，這是一場不靠政黨、不靠議員，全靠人民當主角的新民主運動。記者：雷子樂、林俊謙
「五區公投，全民起義」、「五區公投，全民抬頭」……都說是一場人民自發的民主運動，集會剛開始，參加者已自發高呼口號。主持人邵家臻說：「香港人係嚇大 o架。越嚇越大聲！」台下觀眾疾呼：「起義、起義、起義、起義……」敲打紫紫紅紅的吹氣棒，為公投五俠打氣。

首先出場的是余若薇，她說公投運動和平、理性、嚴肅，是人民直接爭取民主，「公投係投議題，唔係投人選」。「民主女神」眼泛淚光，帶領群眾高呼「改變由我開始、工作由我開始、歷史站在我一方、我站在人民一邊。」她形容這是一場不靠政黨、不靠議員，全靠人民做主角的新民主運動，「呢個係新政治文化，我哋要由被動變主動！」
公投五俠陸續登場發言、唱歌造勢。「長毛」梁國雄說：「呢場運場嚟得越早，香港就解放得越早！世界變咗，係人民令到世界有改變！」在街坊、太太簇擁下，梁家傑再踏上遮打花園的舞台。 03年 7月，他在這裏參加反 23條集會，認真考慮從政。 07年他在這裏宣佈角逐特首。「今日再喺度參與五區公投，就係希望人民抬頭！」
「大嚿」陳偉業感觸更深：「 13年前，我跟住李柱銘，企喺立法局平台拒絕參選臨時立法會。今日，我再次跟住李柱銘，喺遮打花園參加今次全民起義！」民主之父李柱銘也現身撐場，他說，公投是為公義而投票，直斥保皇黨自製流會不讓辭職議員發言「有冇搞錯？」「呢啲事喺民主議會係唔會發生！」台下群眾大叫「保皇黨可恥！」

自宣佈參與五區公投，陳淑莊的辦事處無故被爆門，她毋懼白色恐佈，只怕母親擔心自己的安危。她紅着眼說：「我唔想媽媽擔心，但係我決定咗參加，自己認為啱嘅事，一定要做！」壓軸出場的黃毓民則視土共的文攻打壓如搔癢，年近 60歲的他說：「我死就一世，唔死就大半世，推動公投係想為香港民主運動創造歷史，𠵱家市民先係主角。」呼籲選民踴躍投票。
一片走音歌唱聲中，五區公投運動正式開始，泛民議員張國柱、何秀蘭、涂謹申等人一同合唱"Power to the People"，職工盟李卓人在台上呼籲市民齊用手中一票，令保皇黨永遠離開議會。
集會晚上 10時結束，主辦單位指有 4,000人出席，警方指高峯期參加者有 1,900人。

社民連黃毓民：「我就快 60歲，死就一世，唔死就大半世，喺我人生歷史上，可以推動到五區公投，為香港民主運動創造歷史，我已經任務完成，下一步係全港市民做主角，我呼籲大家為咗下一代，可以有尊嚴生活，要參加五區公投。」

公民黨陳淑莊：「之前我辦事處道門俾人爆咗，好多人問我驚唔驚，我點會唔驚？但係我最擔心係媽媽安全（眼泛淚光），我唔想媽媽擔心，但我今日已經決定咗，一定要參加五區公投運動，一定要做我認為係啱嘅嘢！」
